I have never professed to be a writer, author or even grammatically correct blogger. I shoot straight from the hip and absolutely say it as my mind is thinking it. There is often some mediation and editorial reflection after the fact. If I always posted what I was thinking, you all would believe me to be quiet mad and well have a seriously twisted sense of bitch up my sleeve. My former boss (Mr Buble) – once stated in review I tend to write stream of conscious, and while valid for truth, not always spectacular for social consumption. I appreciated this critique because it did aid me in how I look at social interactive relationships. While some of my personalities on Twitter seem kitschy quirky and even odd, the others I keep secret, are actually very mediated due to the nature of the posts. This week I will be posting some articles from esteemed associates, offering great insight in this changing wheat field of twits twats and dramablog gods.
I live in the Social Media world of today and the networked cyber space of transparency for tomorrow. My job my searches my life revolve around what others are placing into the ether to be shared learned and discovered. In that space, I today officially offer the AssHat Award of Excellence to a former favorite Author. This person will remain nameless ( I know what fun is that) because I also do not feel the need to disparage anyone publicly no matter who they are to prove my opinion or cram it down others throats for a simple pleasure of “being right”. More on that in a minute.
We are all aware of recent tragedies with youth taking their lives due to discrimination, hate and the overwhelming sense of despair. This is brutal enough and tore my heart apart. I absolutely fear for the struggles teenagers (having one of my own) face in this time and age. I count on political, religious and even celebrity leadership to offer meaningful insight. I am by no means saying that I pour over every word or rely on their opinions to form my own, but in the midst of tragedy its nice to see someone with such status, humbled and tender. Approachable in shared grief and sentiment.
Why the AssHat of Excellence Then ? You ask.
Favorite Author makes public comment on Facebook that by any grammar police standard (and again mine are pretty low I am not perfect) came off sounding a little backwards. Ok more than backwards. It was just dam straight wacky. I would label it off colored, but no it was colorful all right.
Why does that matter?
Again, in this socially ironic driven age if you are going to be a leader and put your thoughts out there and do so under your “brand of celebrity”, please use spell check. I might get the faint notion by this and recent Facebook posts you have made very public on your agenda, that you Favorite(d) Author with hundreds of books under your belt, are a fraud.
Is your mind slipping? Who then really wrote your imaginative, diverse novels with such vivid imagery? Your last 40 posts seem to be coming from the hand of a 4th grader, and I know some pretty smart ones.
