Portraits in Yarn – Jo Hamilton

Fiber Arts blog hop Friday led me to Ellen’s blog. She detailed a beautiful crochet artist currently doing portraits in yarn. Jo Hamilton having a strong paint  background transferred her color work to portraits of people and even landscapes. Portraits done completely in crochet. My envy factor and the strong desire to own one is making me go wonky today. Each piece from Jo’s perspective can take up beyond 50 hrs. The style would be considered free form crochet so there are tied ends which as part of texture she allows to remain. There was mention Jo will be in NYC in the next couple of months displaying her work. I did not see anything in the site to indicate a tour or gallery show. Take a look at her pieces and enjoy!
