Nanette turned me on to a new service being offered by the Library of Philadelphia. For $15 (USD) a year you can subscribe as an out of state member and download digital books through their site. Click the purple Download Media button and browse their online list. Pixie wants a Nook Color for her birthday this year and is really pushing the tablet applications for all of her media. Now that she is blooming into this amazing photographer and digital media wizard, her gadgets are getting more advanced as well. She actually wants the Nook and a Holga special edition pack.
I have several friends now that are masters of the Nook and I may be converted. My biggest question, why are there not that many knitting or craft books available in digital titles? Is it because it is difficult to convert these into media readers? It seems it would be easier. Are there permissions rights or some content restrictions?
