I love them. I love how they love each other, this new phase of their life and the decision to live differently than city urbanites. Josh and Brent have taken the life I have always wanted and wrapped it into this precious gem that I can witness each week. Until I win the lottery I will never be able to buy a historic farm property. Who can, in these times right? I at least get the joy of watching them plant a seed and grow a sustainable bloom, affecting those around them. Below the surface there is also a bigger message here. Gay = not scary.
Do you remember a time on television when two people of the same sex even eluding to the notion they had a love interest for each other was as CLOSE as America came to Gay. Yeah GOD BLESS PROJECT OUT!
The show is not all about gay, farming, reality tv or even making the  money. It is all about relationship. To the earth, to each other and to making self choices and decisions that impact your world. If you don’t want all that heavy thinking just watch the dang show and laugh your tail feathers off over the antics and mishaps. There should be one of those audience laugh buttons flashing every five seconds because its HILARIOUS.

Premiere Asparagus

Recipe serves four

4 cups water
1/2 pound each green asparagus and white asparagus (remove woody portions from base of stalk and discard, then cut remaining stalk diagonally into half-inch pieces)
2 tablespoons low-salt soy sauce
2 tablespoons sesame oil
1 teaspoon honey
2 garlic cloves, chopped fine
1/4 cup sesame seeds, toasted
1 teaspoon hot pepper flakes


  1. Bring 4 cups water to boil in saucepan. Drop in the pound of asparagus to blanch. Boil one minute. Drain. Rinse with cold water and then pat dry with a paper towel.
  2. Mix next six ingredients in a bowl. Pour over the asparagus.
